We wanted to take a moment to share something very special with you. Queen of the Meadow is proudly a women-owned, family-built business, and this February we are celebrating 19 incredible years of handcrafting products rooted in nature, community, and intentional living.

My name is Daniela Honegger, and I am the founder and owner of Queen of the Meadow. I was born and raised in Switzerland and moved to the U.S. in 2004. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had a deep love for being outdoors — gathering plants, working with herbs, and creating what I used to call my “magic potions.”

That childhood passion eventually became a calling while living in the mountains of Northern New Mexico, where I discovered my true love for herbal processing and plant-based skincare. Working alongside master herbalists taught me how to respect plants, formulate with purpose, and bring healing products from nature to your hands.

When I later moved to Colorado, I knew I wanted to build something meaningful — a business that reflected my values and allowed me to raise my three children, Jocelyn, Gene, and Janis, while teaching them about sustainability, entrepreneurship, and the power of natural living.

Queen of the Meadow was created with a simple mission: To offer organic, plant-based skincare made with integrity, eco-friendly packaging, and ingredients you can truly trust.

What started at local farmers markets has grown into a brand carried by shops across the country, yet our heart remains the same. Every product is still crafted with care, intention, and respect for the earth.

In 2011, we took another big step toward sustainability by building our earth-friendly home and workshop on 35 acres near Fort Collins, Colorado. Today, we continue producing skincare off-grid, staying true to the values that inspired this journey from the very beginning.

Why “Queen of the Meadow”? Not only does the name reflect the beauty of nature, but it is also inspired by a real medicinal herb known for its strength, resilience, and healing properties — qualities that represent both our products and the women who use them.
