We have been working hard this spring getting our organic family garden started. Pulling weeds, gently laying seeds in rows, and watering are daily tasks to tend to our growing plants. Cultivating your own food is a passion with numerous benefits both for your physical and mental well-being; no pesticides or fertilizers, no transport, processing or packaging, and access to fresh, healthy, readily available produce.
The only downside to gardening is that it often results in cracked finger tips and dry hands. Soil strips away your skin's natural protective oils leading to dryness. Even though wearing gloves can protect your hands, it is not always enough to reverse the effects of gardening on hands and heal cracked finger tips, rough knuckles, and dry cuticles. |
