At Queen of the Meadow, sustainability isn’t a trend, it’s the foundation of how we live and create.

In 2011, we built our home and workshop to function completely off the grid. Our space was inspired by an earthship design, a structure built into the landscape using recycled and repurposed materials. The walls of our home are made from items that would otherwise end up in landfills—recycled tires, glass bottles, cans, and plastic containers—giving new life to materials while creating a highly efficient, self-sustaining environment.

Within this same structure, we built our workshop, where every product is handcrafted, packaged, and shipped. By integrating our living and working spaces, we are able to operate entirely off the grid, independent from city water, electricity, and gas.

Our electricity is powered by the sun and wind. Our home is heated naturally through passive solar energy. We harvest rain and snow from the roof and store it in cisterns with a total capacity of 8,500 gallons, allowing us to function without a well. The building itself also acts as a greenhouse, where we grow lots of plants including some tropical fruits like pineapples and figs.

Every step of our process is designed to work in harmony with nature. When you choose Queen of the Meadow, you are directly supporting a truly sustainable way of creating skincare. Our products are made without petrochemicals, aggressive detergents, or petroleum-based preservatives that can be harmful to both your body and the environment. We formulate using ingredients in their most natural and authentic form, so your skin receives pure, nourishing care.

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our ingredients. We carefully select packaging that reflects the same level of purity and responsibility. We use recycled glass jars, recycled paper bags, and recyclable bottles whenever possible. Some of our products are completely zero waste. Each item is finished with a locally printed label that clearly lists every ingredient and offers guidance for use.
